My Dad brought home this street food. He said it's the cow's lungs. It
was sauted and not grilled, unlike common street food. Most of them are
chewy and some are kind of hard. But overall, it tasted sweet when
dipped in vinegar.
I eat many types of internal organs: chicken
lungs/liver/heart/duodenum/intestine/gizzard, pig and cow's
liver/intestine/lungs, and goat's lungs. I prefer them over the meat.
There's also the famous balut (21 days duck eggs) which people take as
yucky but for me, yummy.. hehe
My cravings for them started when I
was just a kid. Whenever there's a drinking session in our place, these
kinds of food are always served. So, I grew up having a share of their
"session" dish (pulutan). I don't drink, I just enjoy the food.
The
university where I graduated from, people intentionally go to our place
just to buy isaw (chicken intestine), isaw baboy (pig's intestine), or
gizzard. These street food are popular because they taste good, cheap
(sulit) and most of all, they're clean. And the food stalls are near my
dorm house so, much to my advantage!
